Youth arrested for brandishing firearm, opening fire in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj dist

Mayurbhanj: A youth was arrested in the Udala area in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha for brandishing firearms and opening fire with an intention to intimidate two girls.

The incident took place in Nachhipur village under Kaptipada Police limits in the district. Police have also seized a gun in this context.

The accused has been identified as Kalia Senapti of the village.
As per the complaint, the sister and daughter of Puja Singh of Nachhipur were consuming berries under a tree.

At this moment, the accused Kalia Senapati appeared on the scene and scolded them. He also intimidated them by brandishing a country-made gun and also fired a shot.

Following the incident, victim Pooja Singh filed a written complaint at Udala Police station. On the basis of the complaint, Police swung into action and arrested the accused.

Police also seized a gun from his possession. Further investigation of the case is underway.
