Sundergarh: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly hacked his elder brother to death over a petty issue at Phulajhara village under Mahulpada Police limits of Odisha’s Sundergarh district.
A minor word of exchange erupted between one Landa Munda and his elder brother Sukra Munda over some issue while they were having their dinner yesterday.
Irate over the argument, Landa took an axe and hacked Sukra by chasing him to some distance. When other family members tried to save Sukra, Landa threatened them to kill as well.
While Sukra, who sustained grievous injures following the attack died on the spot, Landa fled from the village after attacking his brother.
Mahulpada Police visited the village this morning after the family members filed a complaint about the incident and started an investigation. The cops seized the body of Sukra and sent it to the hospital for autopsy.
A search operation is underway to trace the murderer.
