Balasore: In a suspected case of failed love affair, a young couple committed suicide by consuming poison near Haladipada Railway Station under Bahabalpur police limits in the district on Tuesday.
The deceased duo has been identified as Paramanda Mula and Arati Mula of Bahabalpur village.
The incident came to fore after a group of locals first spotted the couple lying unconscious in a thatched house located near Haladipada Railway Station this morning. They immediately rushed the couple to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where both of them died during treatment.
Locals suspect that the couple might have taken the extreme step by consuming poison last night after arriving at the railway station.
Neither police nor the family members of the deceased had reached the hospital till the story was being filed.
