Yellow warning for heatwave issued in 8 districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar issued a yellow warning for heatwave in Odisha today in which eight districts of the state will be affected.

The heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Jharsuguda, and Kalahandi districts of the state.

These districts have been warned to refrain from traveling as much as possible between 11 am to 3 pm.

Mercury has crossed by 44 degrees Celsius in seven cities in western Odisha due to the effects of heatwave. The effects of the hot winds are expected to be experienced for the next 2-3 days in western Odisha.

Although the humidity level has increased, but due to the increase in the stability of the atmosphere for the last 7-8 days, the number of Kalabaisakhi rains have decreased. As a result, the people of State have been experiencing unbearable heatwave.
