Year’s first swine flu death reported in Odisha

Swine FluBhubaneswar: The first death of the year caused by swine flu in Odisha was reported on Saturday.

According to reports, an under treatment middle-aged patient died at a private hospital located in the Unit-IV area of the capital city this morning. While the identity of the diseased and the hospital is yet to be established, the death has triggered panic among residents of the city where six persons tested positive for H1N1, the virus that causes the avian influenza, on Friday.

So far 24 swabs in the State have tested positive with the virus of this deadly disease.

The State Government has issued special guidelines for hospitals dealing with the Swine Flu patients recently in the wake of the outbreak of the disease.
