Bhubaneswar: Two from the city-based KIIT University have been included in the eight-member Indian team which has been selected to take part in World University Chess Championship-2018.
Akankhya Kabi and Aparajita Gocchikar have been included in the team for the Chess Championship to be played between September 12 and 18 in Aracauj, Brazil.
IM Sidhant Mohapatra of Fakir Mohan University is the other player from Odisha. Gocchikar, who scripted history last year by winning the Fédération Internationale des Échecs or World Chess Federation (FIDE) Chess Arbiter Title, will lead the team.
Meanwhile, KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta met the team and extended his best wishes here today.
Later taking to his twitter handle, Samanta shared a photo.
