World famous Joranda Maghamela to begin from February 18

Dhenkanal: The world famous Joranda Magha Mela will kick start from February 18 to continue for seven days.

A preparatory meeting was held Thursday at the Joranda Gram Panchayat office in this regard. District Collector Pawan Kalyan presided over the meeting and sought cooperation for the hassle-free execution of the fair. He stressed on lighting arrangement in the area and publicity of the fair amongst others.

Sarpanch Prashanta Kumar Rout read out the schedule of the Joranda Magha Mela. He intimated about the apparent income and expenditure of the fair.

For easy movement of traffic, the west and north gates of the Gadi (temple) will be used as the entry point while the east and south gates will be open for the exit of the visitors. CCTV cameras will be installed at different places to monitor the situation.

Scenes from the temple will be displayed in the LCD. Stress was given in the meeting to make the necessary arrangement for drinking water, first aid, and ambulance for the visitors besides parking, kiosk erection and timing of the jatra.

Natabara baba, Abinashi baba, Raghu baba, PD DRDA Narottam Behera, and others were present in the meeting.
