Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a worker met watery grave while repairing a pipeline in VSS Nagar area here yesterday.
The deceased worker has been identified as B. Rudra Dora, a resident of Ganapati slum under Nayapalli police limits.
As per the report, Dora had been engaged on a repairing work of water supply pipeline of Public Health Division (PHD) in VSS Nagar area and was inside a five-feet-high water chamber when the mishap took place.
As per the eyewitnesses, while the victim was inside the chamber, the concerned department released the water causing him to get trapped. They immediately rushed to the spot and tried to drag Dora out of the chamber but failed in their attempt as his hands got stuck in the pipe.
Dora died inside the chamber few minutes later.
An investigation is underway in the incident.
