Woman’s body found from hotel room in Bhubaneswar, beau absconding

Bhubaneswar: Mystery shrouded the death of a woman who was found dead in a pool of blood inside a hotel room in Mancheswar area in the city today morning.

The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Biswal of Khordha area. She was staying at the hotel for past few days.

The incident came to light after the staff of the hotel located very close to the Rasulgarh flyover called up Commissinerate Police and informed about a room which had been locked from outside under mysterious conditions by its occupier this morning.

After reaching the spot and breaking open the door of the room the police team found the dead body of the victim lying in a pool of blood with grievous head injury. From the prima facie evidence it appeared that the victim had been killed by repeated hit on her head with iron rod.

Police seized the body for autopsy. Cops also seized an Aadhaar card from the spot bearing the name of the male friend of the deceased namely Aditya Mohapatra.

While the exact reason of the murder could not have been ascertained so far, a staff of the hotel said, the victim had made a check-in at the hotel at around 6.30 PM on August 22 with her male friend by identifying him as her husband and was staying in Room No. 120. However, when a staff of the hotel went to collect the bill amount from her this morning the room was found locked from outside.

The family members of the deceased have been intimated on the incident and an investigation is underway to nab the absconding accused.
