Woman medical student found hanging in Balangir’s Bhima Bhoi Medical College hostel
Balangir: A hanging body of a woman medical student has been found hanging in the hostel room of Bhima Bhoi Medical College in Balangir on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as Nirupama Nanda.
Reportedly, Nirupama was spotted hanging from a window of her hostel room by a scarf following which the hostel authorities immediately informed about it to the local police.
On getting the information, her family members as well as Balangir police arrived at the crime spot and recovered the body. She was rushed to the hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead. The body has been sent for autopsy procedure.
Although the cause behind the death is yet to be ascertained, however, Nirupama’s family has suspected murder. “The warden of the hostel informed us at 12.10 am last night and asked to immediately reach hostel. She did not look like she has committed suicide. I suspect that she has been murdered,” said her father.
“Recently their results were published in which many students had their back paper for the ongoing semester. Post the results, other inmates did not have a proper conversation with Nirupama. She was going for classes as well as for lunch from hostel alone whereas prior the semester results were published all other inmates had a good bonding with her,” he added.
The local cops have initiated an investigation into the matter.
