Nuapada: In a success to police in anti-Maoist operation, a woman Maoist carrying Rs 1 lakh reward on her head surrendered before Nuapada Police today.
The surrendered Maoist identified as Dalmati Paharia alias Madhuri was involved in Red activities since June this year. She laid down her arms before Nuapada SP Smit P Parmar with an objective to return to the mainstream.
Informing on the surrender Parmar said, Madhuri had been forcefully inducted in Sinapali LOS of Mainpur-Nuapada division of CPI (Maoist) group by Rajiv and Anju who worked for the same LOS. Later she operated in Boden and Sinapali Police Station areas after undergoing a 7-day training in Jholaparha area under Patdhara Reserve Forest.
After surrendering to police, Madhuri said she left the left wing extremist group as she had been forcefully inducted and also witnessed Odia cadres’ humiliation by Andhra and Chhattisgarh cadres in the LOS.
