Berhampur: In a shocking incident, a woman was run over by a train after jumping before it along with her two minor daughters near Berhampur Railway Station over a family feud today.
The deceased has been identified as Rama Bhanj of Berhampur.
As per the report, Rama who had a heated argument with her husband Utsav Bhanj over a trivial issue at home last night took the extreme step after pushing her two children Riya Bhanj (6) and Priya Bhanj (11) to the track at around 6 am in the morning. While she died on the spot, the children duo sustained critical injuries and had a narrow escape.
Getting an intimation Railway Police rushed to the spot immediately and rushed the injured sister duo to MKCG Medical in Berhampur and then shifted the elder sister to SCB Medical in Cuttack.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s family, police have arrested her husband on charges of physical torture.
