Puri: In a tragic incident a woman today jumped from the Gumuta of the Singhadwara of Srimandira in Puri of Odisha today. As a result, she was killed.
The identity of the deceased woman is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the woman climbed to the Gumuta of the Singhadwara after approaching there through the Ananda Bazar. There when she was trying to reach to the Gumuta, some people tried to stop her, however she did not pay heed to them and jumped from the Gumuta in an attempt to suicide.
Following the incident, Police immediately sent her to the hospital with an Ambulance but the doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.
Later the body was sent for autopsy. Further investigation of the case is underway.
The incident has raised many questions. In presence of so many people and security arrangement how could she managed to lurked into the Gumuta is the first question.
Police have said that it is also yet to be ascertained while the deceased is a woman or a transgender.
