Anandpur: A woman sustained critical injury and was rushed to hospital after being hacked by none other than her daughter-in-law over a family feud in Sirigida village under Telkoi tehsil in Keonjhar district on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Jemamani Mohanta (50).
A verbal duel erupted between Jemamani and his daughter-in-law over the taste of the food cooked at the kitchen in the house. As the argument escalated further the accused daughter-in-law took out a paniki (vegetable cutting tool) from the kitchen and hacked the victim in a fit of rage.
Jemamani sustained critical cut injury on both his hands and the back in the attack and was rushed to Telkoi CHC by some neighbours immediately. She was later shifted to Keonjhar DHH later due to deteriorating condition.
While police have registered a case in the incident and started investigation.
