Dhenkanal: Tension prevailed in Kateni village under Tumusingha police limits in Dhenkanal district today after dead body of a newly-wed woman was found hanging in her in-law’s house.
The deceased has been identified as Reena Sahu (22), wife of Bapi Sahu of the same village.
The incident came to fore this morning after some neighbours of Bapi’s family found the victim hanging in her room and called up police.
Later, police reached the spot and rushed the body for autopsy.
While the deceased’s in-laws are absconding since the incident, her family members have alleged it to be a case of murder. They claimed Reena was getting tortured by her in-laws since marrying Bapi some 11 months ago.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law of the deceased.
