Mayurbhanj: In a tragic incident a woman sustained critical injury while her brother in law was killed on the spot in a road accident that took place in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday. The accident took place near Kaladahi chhak under Kaptipada Police limits in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Baburam Behera and the woman has been identified as Puja Dehuri of Khiladi village.
As per reports, Puja, on Friday was travelling in a bike along with her 10 year old daughter and relative brother in law Baburam (Nanadei). While Baburam was riding the bike the three were on their way to the father’s place of Puja in Chhatrapur of Balasore district. Near Kaladahi chhaka a vegetable laden Pick Up van hit their bike from the front side. The Pick Up van was going towards Udala.
With the effect of the accident, Baburam was killed on the spot. On the other hand the woman sustained grievous injury on her head while her hand got fractured.
After getting alerted about the accident Kaptipada Police rushed to the spot and seized the Pick Up van. Police have detained driver of the van. Fire fighters also reached the spot, seized the dead body and sent it to Udala hospital. The woman has been admitted to Udala hospital for treatment.
