Cuttack: In an unfortunate incident, a woman sustained critical injuries due to an acid attack in Cuttack on Wednesday. The incident took place at Nuapatna village under Tigiria police limits of the district at around 4 am.
The victim has been identified as Rina Sahu (36).
Reportedly, Rina had come out of her house early this morning when an unidentified miscreant threw acid at her and fled from the spot leaving her with 50 percent burns.
The victim woman was admitted to the casualty ward of S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack in critical condition. Later, she has been shifted to the surgery ward of the hospital.
The cause behind this attack has not yet been ascertained. Commissionerate Police has initiated a probe into the matter to apprehend the accused.
