Soro: Balasore district police on Saturday arrested a woman for conspiring the murder of her husband at Ganeswarpur village under Sahadevkhunta police limits in the district. Police also arrested three persons including the woman’s brother-in-law who had allegedly taken money to kill her husband.
Sahadevkhunta Police Station IIC Paresh Kumar Rout said that police arrested Basanti Behera, the accused woman, her brother-in-law Bhagirathi Das and two others Akash Das and Banchhanidhi Chanda for hatching and executing the plan to kill Basanti’s husband Madhab Behera. They have been forwarded to the court.
Basanti Behera, who had paid Rs 50,000 to the supari killers had plotted the murder as she was unable to bear the physical and mental torture inflicted on her by husband Madhab Behera, Rout added.
On being asked if there was any extra marital affair that led to the crime, the IIC replied, “We are also inquiring into the angle.”
Madhab was brutally murdered at Naharpatna on December 27.
