Malkangiri: In a shocking incident, a woman committed suicide after poisoning her two minor children in Goudaguda village under Malkangiri District Headquarter area last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sita Madkami, a resident of the same locality.
The deceased allegedly fed poison to her two children, a daughter (5) and a son (8) late last night and later consumed it late last night in a bid to commit suicide. While all three of the family fell sick under the due to the effect of the poison, some neighbours rushed them to Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition later.
While Sita died under treatment this morning the condition of her children duo is stated to be critical.
As per some locals in the deceased’s village, she was reeling under extreme financial woes after death of her husband a year ago and might have taken the extreme step due to that.
