Winter Session Of Odisha Assembly Adjourned Following Ruckus

Bhubaneswar: The opposition party in Odisha called for a boycott of the assembly on Friday, there was a huge ruckus in the well of the House.

The house functioned only for less than a minute before it was adjourned.

Opposition BJP and Congress members created a ruckus yet again for the second consecutive day due to the much-hyped Mamita Meher murder case.

The house has been adjourned till 11:30 am said reports.

On the other hand yesterday (Thursday), the ruling party BJD had staged a rally protesting the rise in LPG prices in front of the Gandhi statue inside the Odisha Assembly premises.

The winter session of Odisha Assembly began on a stormy note even on Wednesday as opposition Congress legislators staged a ‘dharna’ before two entry points and locked another gate of the House over Mamita Meher murder case.

They were demanding justice to the victim and removal of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged close link with the prime accused in the case.

Prior to the beginning of the House proceedings, the Congress MLAs staged a ‘dharna’ on two of the entry points to the House holding placards demanding Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s reply, removal & arrest of minister Mishra and justice for Mamita Meher.
