Bhubaneswar: The winning Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) candidates in the just concluded students’ union elections of around 15 colleges and Universities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar met BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence Naveen Nivas on Sunday and sought his blessings.
The student leaders met Patnaik and presented bouquets while the latter, on his part, congratulated the elected candidates for winning in the student union elections.
“My hearty congratulations to all the students who have won this election,” said the CM.
“The huge margin of the victories of each of the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal candidates is proof of the student community’s love for BJD policies. This is a direct result of the BJD government’s pro-student policies,” said Rana Pratap Patra, President of BCJD, while speaking to media persons.
The students wing of ruling BJD on Saturday claimed that candidates supported by them have triumphed in 95% of educational institutions in the students union elections.
