Bhubaneswar: While the major political parties in the state have intensified their campaign for the much awaited Bijepur by-poll in Bargarh, senior BJD leader and Panchayati Raj Minister Pradeep Maharathy asserted that his party will definitely win the by-election. He also made it clear that he would quit politics if the state ruling party loses.

“BJD will definitely win the Bijepur by-poll. I will quit politics if loses,” said Maharathy confidently while speaking to the reporters today.

The Panchayati Raj Minister further said that BJD is now far ahead (in number of votes) than any other party and this will be doubled when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will go for the campaigning.

We will win the election with huge margin, added Maharathy.

Meanwhile, Naveen’s schedule for campaigning has been changed. Patnaik will campaign in Barpali on February 20 and in Bijepur and Gaisilat on February 21.

Earlier the BJD President was slated to seek votes for BJD candidate Rita Sahu in Gaisilet and Barpali blocks on February 19 and in Bijepur on February 21.
