Will night curfew ease in Odisha, Covid guidelines for February to be issued today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Friday will issue the  Covid guidelines for February 2022 amid the decrease in Covid cases across the State.

The people across the State are eagerly waiting to know the Covid restrictions that will come into force from tomorrow with a hope to know regarding the reopening of schools and about the relaxation of the night curfew timings.

Reportedly, the night curfew across the state has been imposed from 9 pm to 5 am. The markets are likely to get permission to remain open longer in case the timing of the night curfew gets relaxed.

Similarly, in social/ religious gatherings, not more than 100 persons are allowed currently while a maximum of 30 persons have been allowed for the marriage procession under the January guidelines. The funerals will only be allowed within 50 participants.

Exhibitions and trade fairs were held under strict adherence to Covid protocols this month. Hotels, restaurants, bars, Dhaba, cinema halls remained open till 9 pm with 50 percent capacity.

It is to be noted that as many as 3,329 fresh Covid cases have been reported in Odisha today. However, the State has been reporting the highest number of Covid deaths since last two days. As many as 19 patients succumb to Covid on Sunday while 18 cases of Covid deaths have been reported today.
