Berhampur: A woman allegedly hacked his husband to death with her brother at Patadhar village under Jagannathprasad police limits in Ganjam district last night.
Police said that though the exact motive behind the murder is yet to ascertained, extramarital affair of the deceased might be the reason behind the crime.
The deceased has been identified as Tulu Pradhan, an autorickshaw driver by profession. Police said that Pradhan had been to his in-laws house where the couple had a heated exchange of words.
Enraged over the argument, the woman with the help her brother assaulted Pradhan with a sharp edged weapon. “The assault was so brutal that some of the body parts of the deceased were severed. Later the accused stashed the body in a sack and dumped it near the house. Both of them however surrendered before the police this morning. They are being further questioned to ascertain the motive behind the murder,” said a police official.
