Cuttack: In a tragic incident a widow has been allegedly gangraped and murdered in Mahanga block of Cuttack district in Odisha.
According to reports, the body of the widow, identified as Annapurna Mohapatra of Veda Salepur village was recovered yesterday.
Police has recovered the body from the sludge in a canal, 200 meters from her house.
The father of the deceased woman has filed a written complaint with the police.
The police is investigating into the matter.
Reportedly, she was living with her son as her husband had died three years ago.
Annapurna was living alone as her son had gone out to work since the past few days.
