Well marked low pressure over coastal south Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A well-marked low-pressure area has formed over coastal south Odisha and neighbouring areas, informed Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the system now lies over coastal south Odisha and neighbouring areas with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with height.

The weather department has also added that the Twin Cities of Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, are likely to receive heavy rainfall till Wednesday morning.

In the last 24 hours, Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district received the maximum rainfall of 171.6mm followed by Ambadola (Rayagada dist) with 155mm. 10 places recorded over 100mm rainfall during the period.
