Weatherman predicts heavy rain in Odisha starting from today

Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has predicted more rain in the State for almost one week starting from today.

As per the latest weather bulletin released by the MeT Department, several parts in the State are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm today. Similarly, very heavy rainfall warning has been issued for districts like Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nupada districts.

In view of the very heavy rainfall alert, the Special Relief Commissioner of Odisha has issued advisory to the Collectors of the districts to be affected to remain alert. They have also been advised to make arrangements to shift hostel and residential school inmates along with residents from low-lying areas to safe places.

Fire Services personnel and ODRAF teams have been told to remain ready to take any kind of challenges caused by the heavy rain.
