Watch: Indian para badminton players witness suicide bombings close to their hotel in Kampala
Kampala: Indian para badminton players, who are in Uganda capital Kampala to play the Uganda Para badminton international, witnessed two suicide bombings close to their designated hotel.
According to reports, Indian para shuttlers Pramod Bhagat, Manoj Sarkar, Manasi Joshi and Sukant Kadam are in Kampala along with Coach Gaurav Khanna to play the tournament. However, they witnessed suicide bombings that took 100 meter away from official hotel.
Speaking about the incident, Khanna said that the explosions occurred when the Indian contingent was about to leave for the badminton hall from the hotel.
There was chaos in the street following the suicide bombings and three people were killed in the incident, said reports.
However, all the Indian players and other staff are safe, Khanna added.
