WATCH: 3 train rakes with 2-km-long train chugs on track in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the aim to saves time, energy and run with a single signal giving the line to other passenger trains, the East Coast Railway run 3 train rakes at a time having a total length of about 2000 meters (2 km) on an experimental basis for the first time in Odisha today. It is called Python Rake.

The 2-km-long train chugs included 147 Wagons, 3 brake/guard vans and 4 engines and successfully ran 101 km between Godbhaga and Bolangir stations in Sambalpur Railway Division.

According to reports, the first rake of 45 flat wagons loaded with containers and the second and third empty rakes of 51 alumina containers each headed towards Visakhapatnam Port.
