Warmer summer season ahead in Odisha! Met issues Yellow Warning for heat wave condition for next 5 days

Bhubaneswar: It seems there is no respite from the scorching heat wave condition for the people of Odisha as the regional centre of India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has issued Yellow Warning for heat wave condition for the next five days.

The weatherman said that Yellow Warning for heat wave conditions is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Cuttack, Nayagarh and Khurda up to 8.30 AM of 26.04.20221.

Likewise, same Yellow Warning for heat wave conditions is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Angul and Balangir from 8.30 AM of 26.04.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 27.O4.20221.

The weatherman also has issued Yellow Warning for heat wave conditions likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Angul and Boudh from 8.30 AM of 27.04.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 28.O4.20221.

Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Angul and Boudh. A Yellow Warning for the same has been issued between 8.30 AM of 28.04.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 29.04.20221.

Yellow Warning for heat wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Khurda, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada between 8.30 AM of 29.04.2022 up to 8.30 AM of 30.04.20221.

In view of the heat wave warning, the Office of Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued the following advisory for Angul, Boudh, Balangir, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts.

ADVISORY:

  • Steps to be taken to circulate the warning message among the public.
  • Heat is tolerable for general public but slight health concern for vulnerable people (viz: infant, elderly and sick people).
  • Public may be advised to take precautionary measures for hot weather while going outside during noontime (around 11 AM-3.30 PM in these areas).
  • Public may be advised to avoid heat exposure, keep cool and avoid dehydration.
  • Situation may be closely monitored and action as deemed necessary be taken.
