Koraput: Police today arrested a cadre Maoist identified as Jayaram Khilla involved in the murder of TDP legislator Kidari Sarvewara Rao of Araku Constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He was also wanted in Andhra Ex-MLA Siberi Soma murder case.
Khilla a cadre of Nandpur Area Committee has been arrested from Padua area in the district on Saturday. Police said that the Maoist was also involved in the brutal killing of sitting sarpanch of Hatibari Gram Panchayat Jagannath Khara in August 2017. Police also said that he was involved in another case related to the torching of construction equipment.
Superintendent of police, Koraput, Kanwar Vishal Singh said that they have intimated the National Investigating Agency (NIA) about the arrest. “He will be forwarded to the court today after which he will be taken on remand by NIA team for further interrogation in the Araku case,” said Singh. The NIA had taken over the Araku case last year.
