VSSUT In Odisha Shutdown After 25 Students Test Covid Positive

Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla of Sambalpur district in Odisha has been declared a containment zone after 25 students were tested to be Covid positive.

In addition, VSSUT’s  Pulastya, Marichi, Pulah, Basist, Atri, Kattru, Anuradha, Arundhati, Rohini and Vishakha hostels have been made containment zones.

The Pulau Hostel in VSSUT has been declared a buffer zone. The public cannot go through this area. The area is set to remain indefinitely shut added the administration.

More than 25 students have been infected with Covid in the past two days. 16 students are being held at the temporary Covid isolation ward on the campus.

Four students have reportedly have fled their homes. VSSUT authorities have banned first-year students from entering the University until the situation improves.

All other students at the hostel will be tested for Covid.
