Voter list correction in Odisha to begin from today

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Election Commission will start Special Summary Revision of electoral roll from today with an aim to include all eligible people above the age of 18 in voter list. The process for Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) will start from today and till November 30.

Reportedly, those who want to edit by adding or removing names can go through this process within 30 days from today. By January 2022, those who will reach 18 years of age can register their names for voting. The address of the registered elector can also be changed.

The eligible voters whose names are not on the list, those who have errors and those who want to be removed from the voter list can apply within this one month.

The whole process of voter list correction will be done through online mode. The voters can apply for the changes through ‘Voter Helpline App’ where one needs to submit all documents for address, date of birth and recent picture to validate the applications. The applicants can also apply through the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) portal.

However those who want to go for offline process, the officials will be present at the booth on November 9 and 21, the first and third Sundays of this month in order to guide them for editing the voter list.

It is noteworthy of that the final voter list will be released on January 6, 2022 following which the government officials will visit the home of applicants and provide the card or the card will be sent through speed post.
