Ganjam: A group of people attacked the workers of Gurapalli Toll Gate at Khalikote in Ganjam district of Odisha on Sunday night.
According to reports, people were returning from a marriage party to Berhampur from Balugaon in six vehicles. The drivers were asked for double the fee as their vehicles did not have FASTag which has been made mandatory from February 15 by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
However, the people did not agree to pay the double fee. Instead, they started arguing with the toll workers that eventually turned ugly as some of them started attacking the workers.
Some of the workers sustained injuries, say reports.
On getting the information, the cops arrived at the spot and controlled the situation.
