Baripada/Puri: Acting on the allegation of bribery charges, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Saturday arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) and Block MGNREGA Assistant from Bijatala in Mayurbhanj district and Pipli in Puri district respectively.
The anti-corruption officials, after getting information, laid a trap and arrested RI of Bijatala Dilip Patra. Patra was taking Rs 1500 bribe from one Sanjay Kumar Behera. The RI had demanded the bribe not to demolish Behera’s shop while evicting illegal constructions in Bijatala.
In the second such incident, Pipli block MGNREGA Assistant Priyatam Swain was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000.
Swain was taking the bribe from a divyang for work concerning to Indira Awaas Yojana.
