Koraput: A video of a girl thrashing an eve-teaser in broad daylight in Jeypore has gone viral on social media.
The girl whose identity is yet to be ascertained was seen thrashing a bike-borne youth and trying to snatch the keys of his motorcycle keys near Jay Nagar Park in the town for allegedly harassing and passing lewd comments at her.
It is believed that the incident was captured by an onlooker in his mobile phone and later shared on social media. However, lack of help from people present at the spot has also raised concern on women safety.
Police said that they are yet to receive any formal complaint from the girl in this connection. Locals on the other hand said that incidents of eve teasing have become a regular affair in the area. They also demanded the police to intensify patrolling near the park.
