‘Vessel of CDA plying between Satpada & Jhanikuda running smoothly’

Bhubaneswar: The vessel of Chilika Development Authority (CDA) that is plying between Satpada and Jhanikuda is running smoothly and has not been stranded today, confirmed IFS Susanta Nanda, the Chief Executive of CDA. He also confirmed that the passengers and the vehicles in the ferry are all safe.

Nanda made this confirmation after it was reported on some media that more than 50 passengers are feared trapped in the middle of the Chilika Lake after the floating bridge vessel (Bhasa Pola) ferrying them got stranded midway on Thursday.

Nanda took to tweeter and wrote, “The vessel of CDA plying between Satpada & Jhanikuda is running smoothly & has not been stranded today, as reported in certain media. The passengers & the vehicles in the ferry are all safe.”

The passengers and the vehicles in the ferry are all safe, Nanda also said in the tweet.
