Sambalpur: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) lodged at Sambalpur circle jail died today while undergoing treatment at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla.
The deceased has been identified as Prakash Suna (27). As per reports, Suna was undergoing treatment at the medicine ward of the hospital since Thursday after he complained of vomiting and severe stomach pain.
Police said that Suna was involved in as many as seven cases of extortion and dacoity.
