Bhubaneswar: Utkal University Vice Chancellor Prof Soumendra Mohan Patnaik has been given the additional charge of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT).
Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal yesterday assigned Patnaik with the new duty after the incumbent VC of OUAT Surendra Nath Pasupalak was sent on a leave to ensure transparency in a probe contemplated against him in a corruption case.
Notably, a vigilance investigation is pending against Pasupalak on the basis of a complaint made by a retired employee of the university. Following the allegation he was told to go on a leave from February 26 with just 25 days of service left.
Later, Principal Secretary to Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Saurabh Garg, was given the additional charge as VC of OUAT.
As now Prof Patnaik has taken charge as the new OUAT VC, he would continue in the post till the appointment of a new office bearer.
