Malkangiri: Leaving residents in a state of panic in Tamanpalli village under Kalimela block of Malkangiri district at least six children have died of an unknown disease in past 15 days.
As per the report, the victims of the deceased were found with symptoms like cold, fever, vomiting and indigestion which lead to their death.
At least seven more children have been admitted to Kalimela Community Health Centre (CHC) with similar symptoms, said the CDMO who also linked it to malnutrition.
Meanwhile, a team of health officials has been rushed to Tamanpalli village to collect samples from sick children.
The district administration has also launched a drive to make people aware to check further spread of the disease.
