Koraput: Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries and MSME Pratap Chandra Sarangi visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Pattangi in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
The Union Minister took stock of medical facilities of the CHC. He also talked to patients admitted at the hospital over the treatment and other facilities.
Speaking to media persons, Sarangi said, “Patients are not getting proper treatment due to shortage of medical staff. They are not properly diagnosed as the CHC doesn’t have a laboratory.”
“Though the doctors are good here, the CHC is not getting medicines as per its requirement”, Sarangi said quoting some patients’ complaints.
The Minister said that he will address the matter to both State and Central government.
Earlier in the day, Sarangi visited Pattangi Government High School and discussed with students as well as teachers in various aspects. He also planted a tree in the school campus.
The Minister is scheduled to attend a national event at Damonjodi in the district this evening.
