Union Health Ministry issues guidelines for international arrivals; 14-day mandatory quarantine

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on Sunday issued a guideline for the international arrivals.

The Health Ministry has made it mandatory for each international returnee to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine and use facemasks.

The Ministry said that before boarding, all travellers shall give an undertaking that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days ( 7 days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost and 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health).

Only for exceptional and compelling reasons such as case of human distress, pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parents accompanied by children below 10 years, as assessed by the receiving states, home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days. Use of Aarogya Setu app shall be mandatory in such cases, added the Ministry.

The concerned agencies have been directed to provide the Dos and Don’ts to the travellers along with ticket.

All passengers also have been advised to download Aarogya Setu app on their mobile device.
