Union Education Minister lays foundation stone for Kendriya Vidyalaya on IIT-Bhubaneswar campus

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone for a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) on the IIT-Bhubaneswar campus here today.

Pradhan also inaugurated the temporary building of the KV as it will start functioning from Class 1 to Class 5 (single section in each class) during the academic year 2022-2023 with consequential growth based on feasibility.

The permanent campus of the proposed KV will be built over 10 acres of land on the IIT campus at Argul in Khurda district.

“Inaugurated a new Kendriya Vidyalaya at IIT Bhubaneswar campus. The school will play a key role in enhancing to access quality education and fulfilling regional aspirations. The KV at the prestigious @iitbbs will also provide a conducive environment to students to dream big,” said the Education Minister on his Twitter handle.

In his address on the occasion, Pradhan said, We will soon open about five new Central Schools in Odisha. It is being supported by Coal India Limited (CIL). Through Kendriya Vidyalayas, Ekalavya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, the Government of India is ensuring quality Education for students.”

He further said that the Central government under PM Shri School Yojana has decided to open Model Schools in each and every block of the country. In this process, Odisha will get over 500 such schools.
