Dhenkanal: An under trial prisoner dies after suddenly falling ill in the Dhenkanal district jail on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Brahmananda Dehuri, a resident of Haripur village of Dhenkanal Sadar in this district.
He was serving life sentence Dhenkanal District Jail for a murder he committed in 2013.
According to reports, Brahmananda complained about abdominal pain yesterday and was immediately taken to the Jail Hospital for treatment. As his condition deteriorated he was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) at Dhenkanal.
There he succumbed to the illness at early morning today.
