Uncle, cousin arrested for ‘sacrificing’ minor boy in Odisha

Balangir: In a major breakthrough, Sindhekela police today cracked the murder mystery of the minor boy whose headless body was recovered earlier this week near Sundimunda in the district and arrested two person – uncle and cousin brother of the deceased boy.

The arrested persons have been identified as the uncle of the boy Kunja Rana and his cousin brother Sovaban Rana.

According to police, the accused duo practiced black magic on the nine-year-old boy identified as Ghanashyam Rana and subsequently sacrificed him as part of the ritual to appease the deities.

Rana, a native of Sindhekela village, had gone missing since October 13 and his beheaded body was found five kilomteres away from his house near Sundhimunda village on October 16.

On being informed, his family reached the spot and identified the body. Later, they filled a case in this regard based on which police had started an investigating into the matter.
