As per reports, a passenger named Darren Harrison took control of the plane and immediately reached out to the air traffic control for help after the pilot of a Cessna 208, a utility plane fell unconscious.
As reported in WPBF-TV, the passenger can be heard telling the air traffic control, “I’ve got a serious situation here. My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane.”
When the air traffic controller Robert Morgan asked him about his position, Harrison said, “I have no idea. I can see the coast of Florida in front of me. And I have no idea.”
However, after hearing him the Air Traffic Control asked him, “Maintain wings level and just try to follow the coast, either north or southbound.” They also assured him that they are trying to locate the plane.
Eventually, the Air Traffic Control located the plane on their radar. The ATC at PBIA took over and was able to talk the passenger through a very safe landing.
