Konark: Continuing with its crackdown on ‘suspect money’ ahead of the fourth phase polling in the State, the poll flying squad of Election Commission seized cash worth Rs 8 lakh from a SUV on Astaranga-Kakatpur road under Konark police limits last night.
As per the report, the flying squad members were on a duty of vehicle inspection when intercepted the SUV in news. Later, conducting search of it they found the unaccounted cash and seized those after the owner of the cash failed to produce necessary documents in support of its source.
Further investigation is underway in the case and the owner of the vehicle is being interrogated, informed sources.
