Rayagada: The Odisha Crime Branch Special Task Force (STF) continued its good run in the confiscation of marijuana stocks when drug peddlers carrying two tonnes of ganja were intercepted on SH-5 near Tikarpada Harijan Sahi, Muniguda under Rayagada district.
A whopping of Rs 1 crore worth ganja have been seized from a truck.
On a tip-off, the agency’s sleuths conducted a raid near Muniguda on Wednesday and intercepted a truck. They seized the contraband and one 12 wheeler truck and other incriminating materials,
The driver and helper of the truck fled from the spot. However the drug peddlers have been identified and will be arrested soon, informs police.
A case has been registered under Case No.01 dated 05.01.2021 U/s. 20(b)(ii)(C)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 . Further investigation is on.
This is the biggest seizure ever of ganja for STF and one of the biggest seizure of the state in recent time.
