Subarnapur: Two minor girls drowned in a pond near Malikamunda village under Sonpur police limits in the district today.
The deceased have been identified as Pinki Mahananda (6) and Rakshi Luha (7). Police said that both the girls went on missing since Thursday morning. “Both of them went from home to take a bath and did not return to their homes. Their parents also searched them in the area but failed to trace them,” said a villager.
However, villagers later found the bodies floating in a pond in the evening. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and have started an investigation.
