Khurda: At least two persons were injured in a firing incident in the district this evening. The incident took place in Begunia area of the district.
According to sources, while the exact reason behind the firing is yet to be known, past enmity over illegal stone quarrying is suspected to be the reason behind the crime.
The injured persons, whose identities are yet to be established, were rushed to the local hospital by some locals for medication, added the sources.
The sources further informed that the local police, meanwhile, has started an investigation into the matter to get more information about it. Efforts are also on to trace the attackers.
The firing incident has caused a panic among the residents of the locality.
